Moleskin: I think initially we overthought this AO launch especially with the naming of it. For many in the region, we have a fond memory that has brought us to Wicker Park in Highland Indiana. Whether a summer picnic, graduation, retirement party, summer music, The Breezeway Ice Cream, 5 K race, etc……. it has built in memories for many of the Pax that attended. To see the Southside/Southsid3 send a caravan aka clown car of Pax was awesome! Their support has been unwaivering sending us FNGs like the Tawil brothers as well as many more to come. Our initial thoughts was to get guys out here that always have the week day excuse of it being too early at 5:30am. 7am on Saturday should be much easier right?!?!?
I want to personally thank Peyton, OCB, and Crash for stepping up to Co-Q this initial launch beatdown. Also thanks goes out to the all wise Optimus for joining us the Thursday evening prior to bounce ideas off as we did recon at Wicker Park. Planning is always half of any battle in life!!!
To see so many Respect, Respect Respect crew out for this launch was also so good. I was not there for when our new FNG jumped in but I think having the older guys there and visibly seen was part of the comfort that allowed Stan to jump in quickly off the trail/run path. Stan and I spoke briefly and as a runner he has been looking for a club or group like ours for some time now. He mentioned how he wants to strengthen his core and I basically told him that we are that group to help him get there. I hope he continues to come each Saturday going forward. I hope that we are able to get the flyers out there for our next few Saturdays out here.
I’m hoping this summer trial will turn into its’ own sustainable Saturday all year around with the support of Troy and all of NWIND Pax.
Thank you all for making it a great and memorable launch. I appreciate you all
