We started out with a Pumpkin Ruck, but not that many carried a Pumpkin (The Mick with a full size pumpkin and Editor with a mid-sized pumpkin). But of course, Gingerbilly and Scarecrow were dressed in Halloween Orange and looked frightful. Atticus carried his pumpkin toddy.
I really enjoyed this morning, thank-you men for making it special for me. (1) Felt good to Q a Saturday again, (2) There was a lot of Mumble Chatter and that was FUN! (But meant I was not working you hard enough?? – I will try harder next time ?), (3) Dr. Freud brought a delicious Costco Cake to celebrate the October Respect Crew (and Respect Crew wanna-be’s) Birthdays (The Mick, Lights Out, Atticus, Hans Solo, Peyton, Bozo) at Coffeteria. I will say, I am sore, but we did 620 Reps with our Coupons, 84 Burpees or modifications, 10 pull-ups, 60 reps from ATM’s (40 were merkins) and 80 warm-up reps, plus the number of steps from the mossie-ing. That’s putting up some big numbers. My rule: 100 of anything sucks, but 100 done 25 at a time of anything sucks almost as bad. Sets 1 and 2 weren’t too tough. Set 3 got harder and set 4 … you will have to decide for yourself, but for me it was a challenge to push through all 25 of set 4. That made this a good strategy. It is good to do reps to near failure. Great work men.
Our Prayers were for a soccer family in Hegewisch whose 6-year-old son was hit by a car 10 days ago and died a day later. He played soccer with my grandson. His death reminded us that our pains and infirmaries do not compare to the loss of a child. Still Peyton, Bert, Lights Out, Scarecrow, Coors and others needhealing. Their pains and injuries are real. Get well soon men, we miss you all.
