Patmos A.O.
A slightly breezy, humid, mid-50’s morning. Long sleeve moisture wicking shirt and ranger panties for me. Start out slightly cold and work up to just right. We held our monthly Sharknado this past Saturday at HUB and Wicker, so no escaping the last Saturday of the month. By the numbers, there’s up to 375 merkin variations (including Dry Docks and burpees). So upper press is maxed out. 4 3/4 or 5 1/4 miles isn’t exactly a nothingburger either.
Today’s workout was a way to unwind some of that punishment inflicted by the Shark’.

Compared to Sharknado, a cakewalk. But we put on somewhere around a 2-mile run. Add 34 pull/chins, and we’ll call it a solid Monday
Many of my PAX still come out despite injuries and work/family schedule issues. And as each day rolls on, we get closer to (or farther on the far side of) RESPECT. Many of us wake up and are prepared to give it, but the miles wear on every day we are on the correct side of the dirt.
Be that as it may, we still have a mission. As F3 PAX, it is to Plant, Grow, and Serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership. As men, it is to protect, lead, and provide for those entrusted to our care. To grow, we must set our sights on a worthy target and strive to reach it. The growth isn’t limited to attaining goals. The growth also comes in the incremental improvements we make toward the Mark. Trading non-nutritious treats for food that will serve our bodies is growth. Denying the flesh of excessive pleasures is growth. Pressing on through the unpleasantries of the gloom is growth. Showing up to work around the challenges that would normally put men in an ineligible state is growth.
Understand where you came from. Cherish the progress you have made. And do not settle for well enough. There’s a nation counting on us to become the best men we can become. I love you all.
