I promised labor and I provided labor. This was a rough one but everyone made it out the other side. Great job everyone!
My plan had mutated a few times, and I settled on doras which I think worked out perfectly. I’ve been looking into wall/medicine balls and slam balls (finally pulled the trigger on a slam ball). In videos, I’ve seen people do pushups with one hand on the ball, then switch hands, then another pushup. I thought, “we could do that with a block instead…,” and decided to try it out in the first dora. I think it worked well.
I believe there was a collective distaste for the “between dora cardio” segment (though I think Gummy enjoyed the hair burners). It turned out to be a lot harder than it seemed (and it already loked pretty hard on paper…). I for one could not complete the karaoke at the end.
In the second dora, I wanted to use the block pull through Merkins I used before (though last time I did those it was with a 40lb sandbag). They sucked, but I think what was worse was you could really smell the result of the hair burners. At some point in here Nuthouse ripped a block in half – Troy now has a half block stored under the bridge.
Finally, with 5 minutes left, I gave everyone the option of another “between dora cardio” segment, or the first part of the next dora we didn’t get to. Everyone picked the next dora segment which started with 80x blockies (this was not known to them when they chose), which we did to time. I won’t quote Coors exactly, but he did give me some colorful feedback.
I finally got to join CoT today. It was a great discussion of movies with Gummy and Trader Joe. Sorry the other PAX couldn’t make it.
Again, everyone did a great job laboring through this. I only write these BS Qs because I know you all are up for the challenge.
WoW: To quote one of Gummy’s favorite movies (not mine – for the record): “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get next.” I’m looking at you Crash and Kato – be safe out there.
