BACKBLAST 10/5/2019 – THE HUB –
Latest Backblast Record. I apologize because I haven’t written a backblast in so long that not only did I forget to do it, I forgot how to format it. To be totally honest, my negative feedback I would give myself is that I did not plan this workout at all so remembering it all will be difficult for this.

Again, I know this isn’t accurate so I apologize. A good leader plans what they will do before they do it and is able to adequately recap what was done. I failed here so my bad.
That being said, my goal was to push everyone past their perceived limits (as much as you can for a 60 minute workout). There are a few things on GORUCK events that mentally get to me. One of those is anytime your ruck is pressed over your head, elbows locked, with no ending time in sight. I get in my own head, I freak out, I tell myself I can’t do it. I let my elbows break, I rest my ruck on my head. With no clear end time in sight (no known rep count, no clear seconds) it almost creates that sense of “I am going to have this over my head forever and I know I can’t do it forever so I will just quit now”. That is the exact mindset that a Cadre forces you to get over. I waited for the first few guys to show signs of this and then demand that everyone holds it for 10 seconds and we can stop. At this point, it forces you to dig deep to avoid that pain. Everyone did a great job with this today.
Our brotherhood will grow as we push each other more and more. We will have those great breakthrough moments when we build that trust in the workout. When we can truly hold each other accountable, we will grow. Take each workout seriously, push through, encourage others to push through.
Good job. And someone hold me accountable to backblast next time.
